Old SchoolOps

RF Online

A sci-fi MMO where three races fight over one mine: Bellato mechs, Cora magic and Accretia gunmetal. Each episode is its own server and its own client.

Which Version Should I Play?

RF Online changed a lot across its life, and each episode here is its own game rather than a patch of the one before it. Each needs its own client, and a client from one episode cannot talk to a server from another.

  • Giga 4 Episode 2 is the last version before the cash shop arrived, and the one we host. Level cap 55.
  • Red Army (2.1.5) opens Beast Mountain and Outcast Land, gives the Archon real authority over a race, and adds the Red MAU and Siege Kit. Level cap 55.
  • Secret of Holystone (2.1.6) follows Red Army with the Blue units, Kartella Bio Lab, PvP points and the Superior armour line. Level cap 55.
  • Golden Age (2.2.3.2) is the one most people mean by RF Online: Gold Points, three battle dungeons and the Bio Lab second basement, at level cap 65.

They all run on the same framework, so the setup, the config file and the launcher are identical. Only the client differs.

Versions

Setting a server up is the same for every game we develop, and those pages are written once. Each version then has its own space for what only applies there.
