Force Recovery and Loose Ends

Released 2026-07-19

Force points recover on their own now, so a caster is no longer stranded on an empty bar after a fight or a relog. Starting spells stay learned across logout, logging out to character select takes the original's short countdown again, and the area name is set again after every map change.

The smaller gaps left open across the 0.3 line, closed. No new systems in this build.

Force Points Recover on Their Own

The biggest of these: force points had no way to come back. You could spend them casting and then sit at an empty bar with nothing to refill it short of a potion, and a relog only handed you a full bar that drained the same way. Force points tick back up over time now, in and out of a fight, the way they should. A caster who runs dry recovers and keeps going.

Your Starting Spells Stay with You

A spiritualist’s four training spells now belong to the character for good. Only one of them used to survive a logout, so you came back with most of your starting spells gone. They go straight into your force window now and are saved there, so all four are present every time you log in. If you carried a caster over from the last build, its spare spell books are tidied out of your bag on the way in, since the spells themselves are already learned. (The original hands these spells out through a choose-your-reward step in the starting quest. That version is still to come; for now you get all four, and they persist.)

The Logout Wait Is Back

Logging out to character select was instant. The original holds you for about ten seconds first, the short countdown you see in the chat window, and only then drops you back to the character screen. That wait is back for normal accounts. Game masters still log out at once.

Groundwork on the Area Name

The name above the minimap is set again whenever you change maps through a portal or a teleport, where before it was set only once when you first entered the world. The name still goes blank as you walk across a map, which needs the per-region tracking still to come.

Known Issues and What Is Not in Yet

  • The mage still receives its starting spells all at once, with no choice through the starter quest.
  • The area name above the minimap still stays blank as you walk, and the map and teleporter can still misbehave after crossing a bridge. Both need the per-region tracking on the world side, which is the next world task.
